Polar Express

Riding the Polar Express is a must for everyone! We had the opportunity of taking our son and four grandchildren on this excursion December 23, one day after the white-out in Northern Arizona. The train traveled up to the North Pole and then returned back to Williams with a special guest, Santa Clause, who gave a special gift to each child, a Christmas Bell. This was an awesome experience for everyone!

Rim to Rim

October 13 was the day! Tanner and I went Rim to Rim across the Grand Canyon in one day. We started out at the North Rim at 5:15 am, followed the North Kiabab Trail to Phantom Ranch. We rest briefly and continued on up the Bright Angel Trail. We reached the South Rim 11 1/2 hours after we started. What a hike! We have decided to make this a yearly event.

Grand Canyon Road Trip

Maria, Tanner and I took a road trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon yesterday and what a wonderful experience it was. This was my first trip to the canyon and it will not be the last as Tanner and I are preparing to make the Rim-to-Rim trip this October.

We took a small hike down Bright Angel trail and came upon a pair of big horn sheep. Also, on our way out of the park, we stopped and I got within fifty feet of a Bull Elk.

We even made a slight detour to find the Elementary and High schools within the park. Maybe a location change in the future. This would be a great place to live and teach.

What a wonderful trip, just in our backyard!
